Basketball is my passion, I love the game, the competition, and learning each day how to be a better player and teammate. I never give up, I believe in hard work and dedication to reach my goals in everything I do whether that’s sports, school, music, or any other aspect of life. I am a percussionist playing both drums and mallets, I think the fast hands work together in basketball and drums. My love of music comes from my family, I grew up with them playing and performing together and I get to play with my family in local performances, which is a lot of fun.
My family is very important to me, including my grandparents., I think that’s where I get my love for sports, music, competition, and my work ethic. That’s also where I get my faith in God and I’m grateful for all the opportunities he has given me on and off the court.
As a point guard, It’s important to have a very high basketball IQ, I can see the court, I get to know each teammates strengths so I can create opportunities for the team to be in the best position to score. I’ve also worked hard to be vocal so I can be an extension of the coach on the court. I concentrate on ball-handling skills And being crafty which is essential for a point guard to be Successful.
I think all my coaches would say I’m very coachable, I’m always eager to listen and learn. As a smaller player, I am not afraid to go for the rebound, and I work just as hard when I don’t have the ball in my hands, defense has become a big part of my game, something I’ve worked hard on the last two years. If I’m on the bench I’m encouraging and cheering!
