Sports is a huge part of my life and I love to compete. I am from a family of athletes and coaches. My dad (Tracy) played 5 years in Major League Baseball and is currently the Head Baseball Coach at the University of Richmond. My mom (Lisa) played and coached Division 1 college basketball. And my brother (Michael) played collegiate tennis and is now the Head Tennis Coach at Baylor University. If I am not actually playing in a game, then I am at a sporting event or watching one on TV…and I love it all!
I have a unique story in that I did not start playing competitive basketball until 8th grade. From age 8 to 13 I was a competitive gymnast. I finished “Top 3” at several state meets and even earned an opportunity to represent Team Virginia at Nationals. My time in gymnastics has proven to be very valuable as I learned many lessons including discipline, toughness and determination…which has transferred to my basketball game. I consider myself a hard worker, very coachable, and a competitor. Off the court, I embrace academic challenges as I currently have a 4.4 GPA in honors classes.
